TE FARE O TAMATOA ("THE HOUSE OF TAMATOA")
We are non-profit organization comprised of members of all ages who share a love for Tahitian drumming, dance, music, history and culture. We teach Tahitian dance and drumming, with an emphasis on traditional style, to anyone who is interested in learning!
TAHITIAN DANCE & DRUMMING WORKSHOP
By popular demand, we are hosting another Tahitian cultural workshop! We are offering multiple workshops to accomodate people of all ages and experience levels. We are also be hosting a Tahitian market where we'll be selling goods such as pareus, monoi oil, jewerly and much more!
WORKSHOP SCHEDULE **CHECK-IN 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR CLASS**
- 12:30 - 1:30pm | Tamari'i (Kids) All Level Dance
- 12:30 - 2:30pm | Vahine (Female) Level 1 Dance
- 2:30 - 4:30pm | Vahine (Female) Level 2 Dance & Tane (Male) All Level Dance
- 4:30 - 6:00pm | Vahine (Female) Aparima Dance & Drumming All Level
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS
- Drumming All Level - Ages 10+. No experience required.
- Tamari'i (Kid's) Dance - Ages 5-12. No experience required.
- Tane (Male) All Level Dance - Ages 13+. No experience required.
- Vahine (Female) Aparima Dance - Ages 13+. 2+ years of experience required.
- Vahine (Female) Level 1 Dance - Ages 13+. No experience required.
- Vahine (Female) Level 2 Dance - Ages 13+. 2+ years of experience required.
THINGS TO BRING
- Ticket receipt (printed or digital)
- Dance attire (female attire - fitted athletic shirt & pareu/sarong / male attire - athletic shirt & shorts)
- Water & snacks
- Face towel
- Cash or card to purchase items from vendor (optional)
