TE FARE O TAMATOA
Join us for our 6th annual Tahitian Dance & Drumming Student Showcase! Te Fare O Tamatoa is a non-profit organization whose mission is cultural education by sharing Tahitian culture through dance and music. Come stimulate your senses with beautifully hand crafted costumes, exciting Tahitian dance movements, and intricate drum beats!
We will be featuring our dance students from kid's, beginner, intermediate and advanced class as well as our performance group Te'a Rama! We will also have special guest performances by Dojo 3 (taught by Nanave Radford) and Pacific Bloom (taught by Solana Rollolazo).
TAHITI - COLONIAL HISTORY & CULTURAL RESILIENCE
This year's theme will celebrate the resilience of Maohi (Tahitian people) in the face of French colonization. The Tahitian people have retained and revitalized their culture through traditions and ceremonies such as language, religion, food, song & dance and the strong relationship between ancestors and future generations.
