TE FARE O TAMATOA ("The House of Tamatoa")
We are non-profit organization comprised of members of all ages who share a love for Tahitian drumming, dance, music, history and culture. We teach Tahitian dance and drumming, with an emphasis on traditional style, to anyone who is interested in learning!
By popular demand, we are hosting our third Tahitian cultural workshop! We are offering multiple workshops to accomodate people of all experience levels.
WORKSHOP SCHEDULE **ARRIVE 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR CLASS**
12:00 - 1:30pm | Drumming //OR// Vahine Aparima Dance
1:30 - 3:00pm | Tane All Level Dance //OR// Vahine Level 1 Dance
3:00 - 5:00pm | Vahine Level 2 Dance
Drumming - Ages 10+. No experience required. Drums/equipment provided.
Tane Dance | All Levels - Ages 10+. All levels of Tahitian dance experience for males.
Vahine Dance | Aparima - Ages 10+. All levels of Tahitian dance experience for females.
Vahine Dance | Level 1 - Ages 10+. Little to no Tahitian dance experience required for females.
Vahine Dance | Level 2- Ages 10+. 2+ years of Tahitian dance experience required for females.
TICKETS
Please note that certain workshop times overlap. When purchasing "3 Classes of Your Choice", select 3 workshops without overlapping times in the Checkout Form. All 3 classes must attended by the same workshop participant.
DANCE ATTIRE
Females wear fitted athletic attire and a pareu/sarong if you have one. We will also have pareus for sale ($15-$35). Males wear athletic shorts (no pants) and a shirt. **Also, don't forget to bring water, snacks and a face towel.**
